Located in NSW’s Southern Sydney, Burraneer Women’s Rugby Club is a high-performance Rugby Union program catering to Females aged 16-years and over who aspire to play Sevens and/or XV’s (15-a-side) Rugby.

Burraneer Women’s Rugby Club aims to become the most successful and professional Women’s Rugby Club in Australia.

BWRC believes in “Good Players, Better People“ and is built on a unique set of values and team culture. This is reinforced at every level throughout our program. This statement is not only used to outline the expectations of our behaviour on the field but also in reflection to how we hold ourselves off the field; encouraging an environment and community where young women can look to become role models for the future in becoming the very best version of herself.

50% of Aussie Girls quit sport by the age of 17-years old. Burraneer Women’s Rugby Club looks to remove barrier to sports participation by providing a true pathway for skilled and aspirational rugby players providing them with the tools and training giving the best possible chance to represent their sport at a high performance level including at a state, national and international level which some of our players are fortunate to have already experienced. 

It is our belief that improving this pathway for women in sport is pivotal to encouraging women of all ages to build and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle no matter what life cycle they're in. Whether you are an up and coming youth player, mothers looking to return to sport, athletes returning post-injury or post-professional sporting career, Burra Rays provide an accepting and empowered playing environment to nurture women.
