Burraneer Women’s Rugby Club confirm Shire Women’s Imaging as a Major Sponsor for the 2022 Season

With round 1 of the Sydney Women’s Sevens competition successfully completed, the Burraneer Women’s Rugby Club (BWRC) is pleased to announce Shire Women’s Imaging as a major sponsor for the season.

The BWRC are the only women’s rugby club in NSW, and to be partnered with one of the leading women’s health facilities in the area speaks volumes of Shire Women’s Imaging’s commitment to supporting the overall health and wellbeing for women within their community. Further, as part of the partnership, the BWRC stands to receive an undisclosed amount of free-of-charge medical imaging for its players, which given the contact nature of the sport is a huge boost to the welfare and medical treatment of the players and another pioneering element of the partnership.

Speaking on the sponsorship, BWRC Head of Rugby Chris Nay said, “From the moment we met Ola and her fantastic team at Shire Women’s Imaging, we knew they were the right fit for our club and the girls. As an organisation running a women’s medical facility, there is an obvious synergy there, however there is also a genuine intent to want to see the girls succeed both on and off the field which is truly valued. It is a partnership that our entire playing group are extremely proud of and thankful for.”

BWRC players Ariana Harden, Ella Koster and Olivia White with the team at Shire Women’s Imaging announcing this incredible partnership.

CEO of Shire Women’s Imaging Ola El Helu stated “We are proud to be the inaugural sponsors of the Burraneer Women’s Rugby Club and to see our logo splashed across the jersey. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to couple the benefits and visibility of sports sponsorship with a team that shares the same values.”

The Shute Shield Women’s 7s competition kicked off on Sunday, 8 May at Rueb Hudson Fields in North Curl Curl. In a show of strength for the BWRC, they were the first club in the history of the competition to enter 4 teams at the event winning all three divisions, a positive sign for the competitions newest club. Round 2 kicks off on Sunday, 29 May with the venue to be announced soon.
