What is your ‘real world’ job?
I juggle a few jobs currently - I mostly work as a medical sonographer, but I’m also an EA at a real estate agency, and help out with administration & payroll for my husband’s plumbing business.
What does being on the BWRC Board mean to you?
I am so proud to be a part of this incredible club and am truly passionate about giving women an opportunity to shine. In a typically male dominated sport, to be able to create something from the ground up with the girls’ interests as our main priority (and seeing how much they appreciate it) is something that I find so rewarding.
What makes BWRC special?
BWRC is so special as it puts women at the forefront - something that has never been done before. They no longer have to play in mens handed down kit, or fit training around a pre-determined schedule. The playing and coaching group are all great humans, who embody by our motto “good players, better people”.
BWRC not only encourages participation and celebrates diversity and inclusion, it also provides a high class rugby standard where our program has already resulted in players transitioning from the club to the national level.
What has being involved in sport taught you?
Aside from the physical benefits, and teaching dedication, teamwork and resilience, the most valuable thing I have gained through sport are the friendships I’ve made. The rugby network in particular has allowed me to connect with like-minded people from all over the world, and I’ve made friends for life.
Shane Koelmeyer - Vice President

What does being on the BWRC Board mean to you?
It means that I can give back to a sport that taught me and gave me so much, and help to ensure that the decisions that are made for the Club are made based on the Clubs values and for the best interest of our players.

BWRC is special because we are truly here to support the female game. We also have a unique culture that everyone buys into…Good players, better people.
